BEML gets orders worth Rs 523 cr

The order from Saudi Arabia is for suppling of 30 dumpers for use in the mining sector

State-run BEML Ltd today said it has bagged orders worth Rs 523 crore from Saudia Arabia and the Indian Railways.

The Bangalore-based company, which manufactures defence products, mining & construction equipment and rail & metro coaches, in a BSE filing said it has got Rs 450 crore order from the Indian Railways and the rest from Saudi Arabia.

The order from Saudi Arabia is for suppling of 30 dumpers for use in the mining sector.

BEML said the order from the Railways is for supplying of 600 rail coaches, 72 AC EMU (Alternating Current Electrical Multiple Unit) coaches and 64 MEMU (Mainline Electrical Multiple Unit) coaches.

"BEML has bagged this (Saudi Arabia) order amidst stiff competition from various other global players. The total consignment has recently been shipped from Chennai Port to Jeddah Port," it said.

The BEML scrip today closed at Rs 292.15 per share, up 0.95 per cent over the previous closing in the BSE.
