BEML to set up offices in Indonesia

According to a defence spokesperson, BEML, which has an order book of 4000 crore and targets sales worth Rs 3600 crore this year, had recently bagged two major contracts worth Rs 207 crore from the Indonesian mining companies.

The BEML office to be set up within three months and will be located at Balikpapan in Indonesia. "The office will provide the after-sales services and also push up the company's business,'' the spokesperson said.

 

The Indonesian firms have orders for hydraulic excavators, rear dump trucks and bull dozers from BEML.

The company has already deployed a pilot batch of eight equipments at KPC Mines, one of the world's largest open cast coal mines in Indonesia. Moreover, the company plants to showcase its equipment at KPC Mines, Tengarong Mines and Tabang Mines in the country.

BEML has also bagged export orders worth Rs. 34.50 crore from Tunisia and Malawi in Africa. The equipment ranges from small size bull dozers to back hoe loaders, wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators etc.

BEML, which is Asia's second largest mining equipment manufacturing company, has already established its presence in more than 52 countries across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The company has set up its offices in China, Malaysia and Brazil.
