Berger Paints India today posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 33.85 crore, 27% increase in the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as against the same period previous fiscal.
The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 26.75 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2010, Berger Paints said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
During the quarter under review, the firm's net sales stood at Rs 587.05 crore, a 23% jump from Rs 478.32 crore recorded in the year ago period.
For the year-ended March 31, 2011, the company's net profit increased by 25% to Rs 150.08 crore from Rs 120.39 crore in the previous fiscal.
During the fiscal, the company posted net sales of Rs 2,328.12 crore, an increase of 23% from Rs 1,891.30 crore recorded in the year ago period.
On a standalone basis, the firm's net profit increased by 29% to Rs 37.64 crore during the quarter as against Rs 29.20 crore posted in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal.

During the period, the firm had a net sales of Rs 538.97, up 24% from Rs 434.70 crore posted in the same period previous fiscal.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, Berger Paints' standalone net sales stood at Rs 2,096.22 crore while it had sales to the tune of Rs 1,684.17 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Berger Paints India closed at Rs 102.30 on the BSE, up by 0.10% from the previous close.
