Berger to set up water-based paint manufacturing unit in AP

Berger Paints India will set up a water-based paint manufacturing unit at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh.

Berger Paints Managing Director Subir Bose met state Chief Minister K Rosaiah here today and explained his company's plan to set up a manufacturing unit with an initial capacity of 1.50 KL per annum at a cost of Rs 200 crore.

'The capacity would be scaled up to three lakh KL in five years with an additional investment of Rs 100 crore, Bose told the Chief Minister.

The unit was expected to provide jobs to 400 people in five years, according to a press release from the Chief Minister's Office.

 

Bose said their British paints division also had plans to set up water and solvent-based paints manufacturing facility at Gollapuram Industrial Area near Hindupur.

The Chief Minister said with the setting up of Berger units, Hindupur would grow into a major industrial centre in the Rayalaseema region.
