Chennai-based BGR Energy Systems, an EPC Company for Power projects, has secured an order worth around Rs 1,631 crore. The order was bagged from Maharashtra Power Generation Corporation (MAHAGENCO) to execute 2 X 500 Mw Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (STPS) Expansion Project at Chandrapur, Maharashtra .
Total value of the contract is Rs 1,631.80 crores and it will be completed over the next 33 months. The scope of the contract includes Design, Engineering, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of all Balance of Plant Mechanical, Electrical and Civil and structural works for the Main plant and BOP.
Other bidders for the project include TATA Projects and L&T. It is the second consecutive BOP contract from MAHAGENCO, as BGR Energy has in 2007, bagged the 500 Mw Khaperkheda Expansion Project near Nagpur. The Khaperkheda Project is now under construction, according to BGR’s release.
