BGR Energy bags Rs 100-cr order from PGCIL

Engineering equipment supplier BGR Energy Systems today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 100 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for laying fibre optic cabling.

The company has secured a contract worth Rs 99.41 crore which would be completed over 22 months, BGR Energy Systems said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The scope of work includes engineering, manufacturing, supply and transportation of optical power ground wire, the filing added.

"Fibre Optic on power lines is slated to provide huge support to the government for rolling out 3G," BGR Energy Systems Chairman and Managing Director BG Raghupathy said.

Shares of BGR Energy Systems were trading at Rs 550.95 on the BSE, down 0.43 per cent from previous close.
