Bharat Forge employees get engg degree

The first batch of the Bharat Forge - BITS Pilani engineering programme passed out on lest week. 35 candidates were awarded a degree (BS manufacturing engineering).
 
At the convocation, L K Maheshwari, vice-chancellor, BITS PiIlani, said technology was going to develop every 11 hours, which meant that each one of us has to be a student. Focussing on education, he said education can make a company proud and help it move ahead.
 
"It is education which has always succeeded and in the days to come it will be education and research that will ultimately lead technology," he added.
 
Bharat Forge Ltd had signed an MoU with BITS Pilani in the field of human resource development.
 
As part of the MoU, BITS conducts a program at Bharat Forge to offer a degree course equivalent to BE to the Kalyani Group employees.
 
Baba Kalyani, chairman and managing director, Bharat Forge Ltd, said he wanted to see to it that the company created more brain power by providing higher education opportunities to its people.
 
Bharat Forge today spends a large amount of money and resources on training. The company is running three batches of BS simultaneously. A total of 169 employees have been covered under this programme.
 
The company has also collaborated with Warwick University for post graduation in manufacturing management and over 76 high potential employees are currently undergoing this programme.
