Auto component maker Bharat Forge Ltd today reported 56.14% jump in net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 at Rs 106.40 crore as compared to the same period last fiscal.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 68.14 crore in the second quarter last fiscal, Bharat Forge said in a filing to BSE.
Total net sales during the second quarter this fiscal stood at Rs 909.99 crore as compared to Rs 718.68 crore, up 26.61%.
The company said its sales growth was driven mainly by the steel forging segment, which clocked a revenue of Rs 904.71 crore as against Rs 716.08 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Sales from general engineering and trading stood at Rs 7.14 crore as against Rs 4.43 crore in the year-ago period.
Scrips of Bharat Forge were trading at Rs 289.30 per scrip on the BSE in the afternoon, down 0.75% from the previous close.
