The Rs 10,378 crore Bharat Oman refinery project at Bina in Sagar district is expected to be commissioned in 2009, officials said today. About Rs 200 crore has already been spent on the project and contracts totaling Rs 600 crore awarded so far, official sources said here. As many as 500 permanent staff, 2000 temporary staff and 10,000 labourers will be engaged during construction and commissioning of the refinery, they said. Work on the refinery was reviewed by State Industries and Commerce Minister Babulal Gaur during a visit to the project site yesterday. The refinery will process 60 lakh ton crude oil every year after commissioning, R P Singh, MD of Bharat Oman refinery said. The refinery will produce environment friendly Euro-IV petrol and diesel. The company has also planned 200 metres of green belt around the refinery site with target development of dense forests within five years. |
