Bharti Airtel plans $3-bn capex for 2009-10

Telecom major Bharti Airtel has earmarked a capital expenditure of $3 billion for its infrastructure and tower businesses for the current financial year.      

"We have earmarked a capex of $2 billion for infrastructure and an additional $1 billion for tower business and others," Bharti Airtel Chief Executive Manoj Kohli said.      

The capex does not include its expenditure plans for the expansion of next generation 3G services, he added.      

Shares of Bharti Airtel were trading at Rs 730.50, up 0.66 per cent on the BSE.
