Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company today commenced operations in four cities - Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata - and said it plans to extend its presence to 15 cities over the next quarter. The insurer had launched its operations in Hyderabad and Mumbai a few months back. The company would focus on mass market growth by leveraging its multi-channel capability, the company said in a release today. It was in the early stages to tap the tier-II and tier-III markets in order to create a national footprint at a fast pace, it added. "Our expansion in India will follow a simultaneous approach of entering smaller markets along with the more established cities. Being a second wave entrant, we need to move fast," Nitin Chopra, CEO of Bharti AXA Life, said. The company is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and AXA Asia Pacific Holdings. |
