Bharti Cellular Ltd (BCL), which launched its mobile services in Kerala on July 4 under the AirTel brand, claims to have cornered 83.6 per cent of the new subscribers during the month.
Of the net additions of 25,546 subscribers during July, BCL accounted for 21,546 subscribers. While existing operators, Escotel Mobile Communications Ltd and BPL Mobile Cellular Ltd, have seen an increase of only 2,969 and 1,257 subscribers during July, which works out to 11.4 per cent and 4.8 per cent, respectively.
