State-owned BHEL today said it has bagged a Rs 3,700-crore from Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd for setting up the 700 MW Bellary Thermal Power Station in Karnataka.
The Rs 3,700-crore order has been placed on BHEL by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) for setting up the 700-MW supercritical (energy efficient) unit at Bellary Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Karnataka, on a turn-key basis, an official statement said.
BHEL has commissioned about 5,000 Mw of power generating sets in the state, which include thermal as well as hydro units of various ratings, it said.
It is also executing the 2x800 MW Yeramarus supercritical TPS of Raichur Power Corporation Ltd (RPCL), a joint venture between KPCL and BHEL, which has been set up to build, own and operate supercritical thermal power plants in Karnataka.
BHEL has established the capability to deliver 15,000-MW of power equipment per annum and further augmentation to 20,000 MW per annum is underway.
Sobha launches new project
Bangalore based real estate company, Sobha Developers has launched a new residential project ‘Sobha Forest View’ in Banashankri extension in South Bangalore, a company release said today. This project, which has come up with an investment of Rs 500 crore, has 492 apartments with a price range of Rs 74 lakh to Rs 1.03 crore.

Bangalore based real estate developer, Patel Realty India Ltd has launched the second phase of its integrated township project 'Neotown' in south Bangalore. This township is spread across 120 acres, the company release said.
