It set up a major centre of excellence (CoE) for simulators, which is a one-stop-shop for all software and system requirements in the areas of dynamic simulation, performance analysis and optimisation of power and process plants. It also acquired a modern 500 kN (kN = 1,000 Newtons) universal testing machine which is used for fracture mechanics investigations and material characterisation studies.
Explaining the achievements of BHEL Corporate R&D in the last fiscal, its executive director S Balagurunathan told newspersons that the organisation was gearing up to launch two more centres of excellence during the current financial year. They would augment the organisation
