BHEL gets Rs 121cr contract from BPCL

Power equipment major - Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) - has bagged a Rs 121 crore contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) for supplying compressor packages for its Kochi Refinery.

This is the first commercial order on BHEL for such type of compressors, which would include three compressor packages and a high flow and high pressure, 'BCL 800' compressor.

The equipment will be supplied by BHEL's manufacturing plants at Hyderabad and Bhopal within 18 months.

BHEL's scope of work in the contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture and supply of two recycle gas compressors with steam turbine drive and motor drive and one net gas compressor with steam turbine drive along with associated auxiliaries.

BHEL is also executing an EPC contract for BPCL, valued at nearly Rs 298 crore, for setting up an energy efficient and environment friendly co-generation power plant at BPCL's Kochi refinery.
