BHEL profit rises 39% at Rs 858 cr

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has posted a 39 per cent increase in net profit of Rs 858 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 616 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

Total income of the company increased from Rs 5,650 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 to Rs 6,923crore  for the quarter ended September 30, 2009.

BHEL's scrip fell 1.74 per cent to Rs 2,380 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
