Bhel's Bhopal unit clocks 21% profit

Bhel’s mother unit in Bhopal has clocked 21 per cent profit (before tax) at Rs 602 crore over the previous year’s Rs 498 crore. The financial results of the unit shows that the company has posted a turnover of Rs 3,708 crore as against Rs 3,308 crore of the previous year.

“Better order position, efforts and commitment of the employees have accelerated growth despite global slowdown,” MK Dube, executive director of the unit said.

The company has registered 60 per cent growth in, exports over the previous year contributing Rs 966 crore to the total turnover against Rs 605 crore achieved during the last year. The company has targeted Rs 4,650 crore for the year 2010-11.

 

Dube further said, it was a challenging task in the present global economic scenario. The unit will also increase its headcounts by another 850 to reach a total of 8,000.
