BHEL chairman and managing director BP Rao on Thursday assured APGenco that the orders placed by the state power utility pertaining to the new thermal power plants would be delivered ahead of schedule keeping in view the severe power shortage.
APGenco has plans to complete new coal-fired power plants with a total installed capacity of 2,800 mw by 2014 and BHEL is the supplier of key equipment including boilers, turbines and generators to these projects.
“Rao has assured that BHEL will supply and erect all the required equipment, material and accessories well ahead of scheduled delivery dates to help complete the ongoing thermal projects of APGenco,” a release said. The BHEL head had met senior energy department officials to discuss the execution of the ongoing projects, it said.
