BHEL wins Rs 2,108cr order from MPL

Power equipment major Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged its first order worth Rs 2,108 crore for the new rating units of 525 Mw.

BHEL would be supplying and installing the steam generators and steam turbines package at the upcoming Maithon power project in Jharkhand, involving two units of 525 Mw each.

The order for the greenfield power plant has been placed on BHEL by Maithon Power (MPL), a joint venture company of Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

BHEL's scope of work in the project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam generators, turbine generators, electrostatic precipitators and associated auxiliaries, besides controls and instrumentation (C&I).
