Bhopal LIC completes digitisation job of policy records

The Bhopal chapter of the insurance major, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is the first division in the country to complete the job of digitisation of all policy records this fiscal, a top company official said. 

"The Bhopal division has emerged first in the country to complete the job of digitisation of all policy records. This will lead to a paper less office," LIC's central zone Manager, G B Pandey told reporters here yesterday. 

Terming the company as the "most trusted service brand" in the country for the fifth consecutive year, Pandey said that LIC has also bagged prestigious honour for unparellel services in the insurance sector by leading media houses. 

 

In the financial year ended March 31, 2008, LIC has insured 3.75 crore people and has reached upto 23.39 crore policies by securing first premium income of Rs 43812.86 crore, which is 10.08 per cent more as compared to last financial year, Pandey said. 

The insurance major also celebrated its 52nd anniversary yesterday and on the occasion launched an 'Insurance Week' to raise awareness about it among the people, the Chief added.
