The $19-billion BHP Billiton, the worlds second largest mining and minerals conglomerate, is in advanced stages of talks with the Sajjan Jindal group to develop a 5-million-tonne mining venture in India.
If the talks are successful, Indias largest mining project will be born. BHP Billiton is looking at industrial minerals like limestone, dolomite and even iron-ore, in which it is one of the largest players globally.
