Bhushan Steel enters into pact with Japanese firm

Secondary steel maker Bhushan Steel today said it has signed technical and marketing agreements with Japan's Sumitomo Metals.

"The company has signed two agreements with Sumitomo Metal Industries for technical know-how and for marketing tie- up for selling produce of Orissa plant," Bhushan Steel MD Neeraj Singhal said here.

Singhal added that the company will be commissioning a 2.2 mtpa Orissa plant next month with an aim to take the annual production capacity to 5 million tonnes by October 2012.

The Delhi-based steel maker said the companies are also exploring joint venture opportunities for the proposed steel plant in West Bengal.
