Big Bazaar, a popular hypermarket chain owned by Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited, the flagship company of the Future Group, has achieved sales of over Rs 50 crore in Bhubaneswar between July 2007 and June 2008.

“We achieved a sales volume of over Rs 50 crore in Bhubaneswar from July 2007 to June 2008 and the city offers a good potential for value retailing”, said Goutam Saha, the store manager of a city-based Big Bazaar outlet.

To give a further boost to its sales, Big Bazaar has announced the five-day Maha Bachat sale from August 13 to 17 across all the Big Bazaar and Food Bazaar outlets in the country.

The five-day national campaign promises to offer a never before shopping bargain across all 97 Big Bazaar stores and 45 standalone Food Bazaar outlets in the country.

Apart from Big Bazaars and Food Bazaars, all standalone formats like Furniture Bazaar, Electronic Bazaar, Navaras-the 22 carat branded jewellery shop and depot stores will also be a part of the national campaign.

This year, Big Bazaar is offering a life insurance cover of Rs 15,000 to all its customers shopping at its store during the five days.
