Bigshot Motors, a Dubai-headquartered company, is planning to make its debut in the Indian market with its four-wheel, all-terrain vehicles (quad bikes) range on November 5.
The company, which has sold over 100,000 units of quad bikes in Dubai and Europe since its inception in 2004, had recently floated its Indian distribution arm— Bigshot Motors India — in Hyderabad.
“We are lining up seven models of quad bikes for launch in India. The range will be available through 46 dealers across the country in the first week of November,” Mansoor Ali Khan, representative of Bigshot Motors, told Business Standard, on the sidelines of the three-day Auto Show 2011 that kicked off here today.
The 110-to-600-cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke bikes are priced between Rs 87,000 and Rs 7 lakh. Bigshot currently has a manufacturing base in China with a capacity to churn out 100 units of quad bikes per day. Khan said Bigshot’s quad bikes concept was to change the lifestyle of the India youth.
“These bikes are street-legal vehicles (need no registration). We are targeting at youngsters who prefer off-road rides, for use in farm houses by farmers and workers at construction sites, and as recreational vehicles for beginners,” Khan said, adding the company was aiming at selling 3,000 units of its quad bikes in India in the first month of launch.
