Steel tubes producer Bihar Tubes on Wednesday inaugurated its Rs 100-crore facility at Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The facility has a capacity of 200,000 tonnes per annum and would cater to the southern market.
The plant was inaugurated by SC Kalia, executive director, Union Bank of India.
Bihar Tubes already has three plants in the country with an aggregate capacity of 2,00,000 tpa. While two are near Delhi, one is near Bangaluru. Hosur is the company’s fourth facility.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Gupta, managing director, Bihar Tubes, said, “We are working on developing several products catering to newer applications in airports, metro network, green houses.”
For the nine-month period ended December 2009, the company reported net sales of Rs 419.63 crore and a net profit of Rs 26.5 crore.
