Benu Gopal Bangur, 84, the chairman of Shree Cements, has made his debut on the list of the top 10 billionaires of the country, with a wealth of $5.8 billion. His wealth was augmented by the company's shares rising 45% since January. At the top of the list is Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director, Reliance Industries, who gained $804 million. Mukesh "Micky" Jagtiani, the Dubai-based owner of Landmark retail stores, fell off the list this year.
