Transportation, distribution and logistics firm Blue Dart Express today reported a fall of 44 per cent in its net profit for the second quarter ended June 30 to Rs 11.43 crore from the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 20.63 crore during the same period the year ago, Blue Dart said in a statement.
Further, total income of the company during April-June period of current fiscal rose Rs 208.26 crore from Rs 244.65 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.
For the half-year ended June 30, 2009, the company posted a net profit of Rs 23.12 crore, down 55 per cent compared to Rs 51.36 crore of the corresponding period during FY'09.
Shares of Blue Dart were trading at Rs 491, down 2.63 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
