Blue Star net up 54% at Rs 18.40 cr
 
Boosted by 32 per cent growth in its primary business of air- conditioning services, Blue Star reported 34 per cent growth in total income. The air-conditioning business contributed 73 per cent to the company's turnover.
 
Net profit climbed by 54 per cent at Rs 18.40 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2006. While the total income was at Rs 376.72 crore. The company said the carry forward order book as of September 30, 2006, was at Rs 788 crore, representing 45 per cent improvement over the previous year.
 
Clariant Chemicals net up 233%
 
Clariant Chemicals (India), formerly Colour-Chem, has posted 233 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 10.27 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared with Rs 2.7 crore of the corresponding previous quarter.
 
The company's net sales during the quarter under review grew by 138 per cent to Rs 229.4 crore from Rs 95.77 crore during the comparable quarter in the financial year 2005-06.
 
Nucleus Soft net up 58% at Rs 13.86 cr
 
Software firm Nucleus Software Exports posted 57.86 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 13.86 crore on a consolidated basis for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared with the net profit of Rs 8.87 crore recorded during the same period in the previous financial year.
 
The company's revenues for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 55.09 crore, 54.22 per cent increase from Rs 35.72 crore recorded during the same period a year ago.
 
Godrej Consumer net profit dips 6%
 
Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) has reported net profit at Rs 26.14 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, showing 6 per cent dip compared with Rs 27.81 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2005. However, net sales of the company increased 16.16 per cent from Rs 157.11 crore in 2005 to Rs 182.5 crore in 2006.
 
The consolidated results, (including Keyline brands, Rapidol) showed a net profit of Rs 31 crore this quarter compared with Rs 27.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, 11 per cent high.
 
Patel Engg net up 103% at Rs 25.48 cr
 
Patel Engineering, civil-infrastructure construction company, reported 103.23 per cent jump in consolidate net profit at Rs 25.48 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, compared with Rs 12.54 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
Consolidated revenues for the quarter rose 32.37 per cent at Rs 243.76 crore against Rs 184.16 crore during the same period last year. The company reported 87.32 percent rise in net profit at Rs 45.59 crore for the six months period ended September 30, 2006, compared with Rs 24.34 crore in the corresponding period previous year.
 
Net income from operation increased 30.99 per cent to Rs 555.83 crore compared with Rs 424.32 crore during the same period previous year. The company also witnessed improvement in margins with net profit margins improving 8.20 per cent against 5.74 per cent during the same period in the previous year.
