Eyeing the fast growing luxury car market in India, BMW India on Wednesday launched its 10th dealership outlet in Pune. |
The company plans to sell 1,350 cars annually in the country, where the total luxury car sale is expected to touch 4,500 next year. |
The new dealership, Bavaria Motors, has its showroom near the Pune railway station and the service centre is located along the Pune-Aurangabad highway. |
Peter Kronschnabl, president, BMW India, said, "The company is growing fast through its dealerships in all prominent cities. After Pune, we plan to have dealers in Ahmedabad, Kochi and Gurgaon. We have an annual sales target of 1,350 cars in the luxury segment." |
The company already has dealers in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. |
"The luxury car market in India is growing at a rate of 6- 6.5 per cent while the overall car market registered a growth of 17 per cent last year. This opens plenty of opportunities for luxury car manufacturers in India," Kronschnabl said. |
The company is also contemplating opportunities to source automobile equipment from India, for which, it has set up an international purchasing office in Gurgaon. |
