Marking its entry in the Uttar Pradesh market, luxury carmaker BMW India on Thursday launched two outlets at Lucknow and Kanpur.

While the dealership in Lucknow is spread over an area of 24,000 sq ft, the Kanpur showroom spans 2,800 sq ft. With fresh footprints, the premium carmaker now has 27 sales outlets in the country.

In recent times, all the three leading luxury car brands — Mercedes, Audi and BMW — stressing on expanding in emerging cities, have launched their outlets either in Lucknow or Kanpur.

Philipp von Sahr, president, BMW Group India, while speaking to Business Standard said “the company would expand its dealership network to cater the rising demand for luxury cars in India.”

“UP is one of the most important markets for BMW and holds great promise in future. With the launch of Speed Motorwagen outlets in Lucknow and Kanpur, we are committed to set new benchmarks and provide high quality service experience to our customers and prospects in the region,” he said. The Lucknow dealership comprise ultra-modern showroom integrated with after-sales service facility featuring service bays and spare parts inventory.

The design of both the outlets is based on Reception at the Car (RATC) and Urban Street Display concept – a signature BMW layout with a consultation lounge, sales and after sales desk close to the display area.

“With our partnership with BMW, we look forward to provide high-quality services to our growing clientele in UP,” Speed Motorwagen managing director Divij Narain said.

A team of service engineers had also been trained at BMW’s training centres in Singapore, Malaysia and Germany.
