The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Board of Approval (BoA) has approved the denotification of Welspun Anjar SEZ Limited's sector specific SEZ in Kutch district of Gujarat.
The company had sought the denotification citing non-viability of the SEZ, which was functional with units working on textile and garment products for exports. The SEZ was spread across an area of 109.59 hectares.
The company had earlier stated that the units in the zone had been debonded and "an amount equivalent to the tax/duty exemption availed had been deposited to the Government Account".
