Bodhtree, APTS launch Happy Village scheme

Hyderabad-based BodhTree Consulting, in a joint venture with the Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS), has launched Happy Village "� a rural empowerment and employment scheme "� in Pochampally village about 70 km from here. BodhTree specialises in service-oriented architecture (SOA) consulting and web services integration.
 
The project, aimed at providing employment opportunities for the youth in their villages, involves setting up of a facility with essential IT infrastructure besides providing coaching and training for the youth to handle data management projects by BodhTree.
 
During the first phase of the project, 15 rural youth, trained by BodhTree, will be employed. The number of employees is expected to grow to 50.
 
"This initiative will not only help penetration of IT in rural villages and create employment opportunities for the rural youth but also to the enterprise as it lowers employee attrition and reduces cost of operations," Sanjeev Gupta, chief executive officer of BodhTree Consulting, stated in a press release.
 
Praveen Kumar, MD of APTS, said the project would be extended to the entire state in three phases. "The first phase would cover 306 talukas. The second is expected to cover 1,123 mandals and the third phase would encompass 25,000 villages," he said.
