Bombay Dyeing June qtr loss widens to Rs 31 cr

With its textiles and polyester business continuing to run into losses, Wadia group firm Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing company today said its net loss in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, has widened to Rs 30.61 crore from Rs 19.69 crore in the year-ago period.

Net sales in the quarter increased by 24.6 per cent to Rs 428.4 crore compared to Rs 343.76 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

During the period, the company's textiles business registered a loss of Rs 7.7 crore against Rs 10.41 crore in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal.

 

Besides, the Nusli Wadia-promoted firm said that its polyester division had a loss of Rs 6.92 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 14.35 crore in the same period last fiscal.
