Bombay Dyeing posts Q3 net loss of Rs 52 cr

Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Ltd today posted net loss of Rs 52.11 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, due to increase in total expenditure including high raw material cost.

Its profit for the October-December quarter in 2010-11 was Rs 67 lakh, the company said in a filing to the BSE.

The firm's net sales for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 increased 3.52% at Rs 456.83 crore, as against Rs 442.44 crore.

The textile and polyester maker's total expenditure during the quarter under review increased to Rs 466.19 crore, compared to Rs 392.38 crore.

The company's raw material costs increased to Rs 312.60 crore as against Rs 266.39 crore.

The firm's scrips closed at Rs 430.35 per share, down 3.53% from the previous close on the BSE.
