Boots Piramal Healthcare, the owner of healthcare brands like Strepsils and Clearsil, is poised for a complete makeover. It is trying to reposition itself on the model of a FMCG company to become the number one player in Rs 2,500 crore over the counter drug (OTC) market in the country. Abhijit Sanyal, chief executive officer (CEO), said the company is looking at a number of options, including revitalising of existing products, new brand launches and sale and distribution of international OTC brands of MNCs to increase volume and turnover in coming years.
