Bharat Oman Refinery Limited (BORL) has said the completion of the the Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh is within schedule and it is likely to start production this month. It will take another four months for the refinery to come in full swing. Though total estimated cost of the project is likely to reach Rs 11,397 crore, the company has no immediate plans to go public.
“The project is progressing at a fast pace and 96 per cent of the work has been already completed while commissioning of the first unit will take place by June end and all other units will be commissioned sequentially in the following 3-4 months,” a company spokesperson told Business Standard adding, “The refinery is in an advanced stage of construction and units are being commissioned in sequence. Crude receiving facilities and various utilities have already been commissioned.”
The six million metric tonne refinery project of BORL, a joint venture of Bharat Petroleum and Oman Oil Company (OOC), is currently underway at Agasod (Bina) in Sagar district.
