BSH Home Appliances Ltd, a subsidiary company of the BSH Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, plans to set up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, with an investment of around Rs 475 crore.
Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday handed over the land allocation letter to V K Viswanathan, who represented BSH Home Appliances Pvt Ltd, in Chennai on Friday. The facility will be spread over in 42 acres at Pillaipakkam Sipcot in Kanchipuram district.
The facility will provide employment to 1,000 people directly and another 1,000 jobs indirectly, according to a state government release.
BSH Home Appliances Ltd, a subsidiary of the BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, a group with worldwide operations and annual sales (2007) in excess of 8.8 billion euro.
Founded in 1967, as a joint venture between Robert-Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart, and Siemens AG, Berlin and Munich, BSH offers major domestic appliances, consumer products and domestic technology.
