Indian oil explorer Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) today posted a net loss of Rs 3,229 crore for the second quarter ended September, 2011.
The oil PSU had posted a net profit of Rs 2,142 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
During the quarter, net sales increased 19.40% to Rs 42,282 crore as compared to Rs 35,416 crore in the same quarter last year.
The shares of the firm were trading down 3.8% at Rs 618 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
