Bretco Holdings exits Monsanto India

Biotech major Monsanto India today said Bretco Holdings (Mauritius) has exited the firm by selling its entire stake for about Rs 70.23 crore.

Bretco Holdings (Mauritius) has sold 4.45 per cent stake or 3,83,810 shares of the company for about Rs 70.23 crore in an open market transaction, according to the block deal data available on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The shares were sold to Monsanto Holdings Pvt Ltd, one of the promoter of the company, at Rs 1,830 a piece.

As per the September quarter, Monsanto Holdings Pvt Ltd holds 49.15 per cent stake in Monsanto India. Following the stake sale, Monsanto Holdings Pvt Ltd will become the majority player in the biotech firm.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 1,832.90, on the BSE, up 0.16 per cent from its previous close.
