Leading biscuit maker Britannia today said it is apprehensive about the rising input cost triggered by high inflation.
"We are apprehensive about inflation just like a common man," Britannia Vice President Neeraj Chandra told reporters.
The raw materials needed to make biscuits are wheat, sugar and oil whose prices have gone up.
"Our input costs have gone up by 20 per cent," he said.
Britannia is not looking at increasing the prices of its biscuits, however, it will take a call at the end of the quarter.
"Prices of agricultural commodities vary season-to-season. There could be an impact, but it is early days to say anything on price hike," he said.
