Indian food products company Britannia Industries Limited was planning to set up an agro processing plant in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The company managing director Varun Berry today met with AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada and informed that Britannia was keen to commission the plant by the end of 2016 at an investment of Rs 125 crore in first phase.
About 75% of Britannia's business comes from biscuit products while cakes, dairy products and rusk contributes to the remaining part of the revenues, according to Berry. The company was scouting for a suitable location which helps serve markets in Chennai and Bengaluru.
