Britannia Industries, India’s largest bakery and dairy products company, has reported an 18 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 47 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year, as against the corresponding period last year. Net sales at Rs 731 crore was up 5 per cent.
The company’s MD Vinita Bali said: “We significantly increased our investment behind brands and maintained operating margin.
A focus on working capital management also contributed to cash from operations of over Rs 175 crore.”
