The airline said it will increase its daily direct flights between Chennai and London.

Announcing the expansion plans here, Christopher Fordyce, regional commercial manager of British Airways in South Asia, said the company had earlier started offering Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft service from Hyderabad, and Chennai would be the second city to have the new aircraft.

The airline chose Chennai for starting the offering as it was the fast-growing market and is of key focus to them, he said, and added the new aircraft would target small and medium entreprenuers, who were looking at business relations between the two destinations .

Fordyce said the British Airways is completing 90 years of service to India and the increase in services from Chennai reiterates its commitment to the market.

The daily service would give business and leisure customers an opportunity to connect with British Airways’ global network from Heathrow.
