Taylor Rubber Managing Director T T Ashok has taken over as CII’s new chairman for the southern region. An MBA from the Eastern Michigan University, USA, Ashok has been an active member of CII for the past 15 years.

Earlier, he was the chairman of CSR sub-committee, CII (southern region), in 2009-10; the chairman of CII Tamil Nadu State Council in 2004-05; and a member of the CII National MSME Council in 2009-10. With a passion for social development initiatives, sustainability and enhancing the competitiveness of the MSME sector, Ashok has led several path-breaking initiatives for the industry body.

Taylor Rubber is an associate of the TTK Group, a multi-product and multi-location conglomerate manufacturing and marketing consumer durables, pharmaceuticals, contraceptives and gloves, among other products.

 

Taylor Rubber, which manufactured domestic pressure cooker gaskets in 1980, went on to produce automotive moulded rubber parts in 1996 and is now a manufacturer of moulded rubber parts for the automotive and consumer durables industries, besides special technical parts for electrical, medical and other industrial applications.

The company is India’s leading manufacturer and exporter of custom-made rubber moulded parts.

At present, the company has a turnover of $2 million and is growing at the rate of 25 per cent annually. It had started exporting in 1996, to the Netherlands and Tunisia initially. Today, it exports to almost all the European countries and South Africa.
