Bsnl & #8217;S Maharashtra Circle Revenue Up 3%

The Maharashtra circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), which constitutes about 11 per cent of its total network, has recorded a 3.4 per cent increase in its revenue at Rs 1,899.3 crore for the quarter ended December 2002 compared with Rs 1863.3 crore in the corresponding period of last year.

However, the average revenue per line has declined by 14.6 per cent to Rs 544.8 as against Rs 638.1 in the period under consideration.

BSNL, which launched nationwide mobile services under the brand name of CellOne for post-paid and Excel for pre-paid, has crossed 1.5 lakh connections till date and plans to achieve the target of 2.75 lakh connections by March 2003.
