Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is gearing up to provide enhanced services during the upcoming Simastha to be held in Ujjain in April 2016.
“We plan provide Wi-Fi services throughout the event area by setting up 14 Wi-Fi spots and 11 mobile towers. The number of Wi-Fi access points will be 5 times of the spots,” said G C Pandey, chief general manager, BSNL (Madhya Pradesh).
BSNL has studied the layout of the event area and services will be provided according to the same, informed officials.

Among the 11 mobile towers, four will be truck mounted and can be moved from one place to another if need be.
Simhastha 2016 is expected to attract an estimated five crore domestic and foreign visitors.
Apart from the Wi-Fi and network equipments, BSNL is also trying to expand its presence by providing closed user group (CUG) service to Ujjain Mahakaal temple staff.
“Around 350 employees of the temple are already using our services,” added Pandey.
BSNL is also ambitious about the consumption of data during the Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh and officials feel the city’s data consumption during the religious congregation may go 50 times or more from the normal.
Apart from this, BSNL is also working to improve mobile networks in Madhya Pradesh and national highways in the state to beat the problem of call drops while traveling.
