Bsnl Lines Up Services To Take On Competition

In a bid to take on competition and emerge as in integrated service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is planning to launch a number of value-added services that include broadband services such as video-on-demand, always on Internet and voice mail (it is already launched in three circles) shortly across the country.

The telecom major is also planning to get aggressive in the GSM (global system for mobile communication) arena, with service being planned to be launched in over 1000 towns and cities by end of March 2003.
