Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP)--the flagship entity of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)""is planning to construct a multiplex at the outskirts of the steel city besides giving new shape to the township. |
According to sources, the multiplex would come up near Ruabandha in 50-acre of land owned by the SAIL. |
Though the authorities are preparing the design of the project, sources said the estimate cost of the project would be more than Rs 100 crore. |
"The BSP management had invited proposals from noted planners and architects from different parts of the country and state," a senior BSP official said. |
A team of planners from New Delhi and Mumbai are coming here in the last week of this month to select the site and prepare the design. |
Earlier, the management planned to bring up the multiplex near civic center in the heart of the city. |
Later decided to change the site following suggestions of a few local planners that civic center was not spacious to build a multiplex. |
The senior officials decided to shift the venue to Ruabandha at the outskirts of the city. |
Besides multiplex, the BSP management has also decided to renovate the Nehru culture center and convert it into a mega auditorium. |
A bug marriage palace is also in the plan. |
The vacant building of BSP would be renovated for the palace, sources said, adding that the management would be inviting proposals from planners of national repute for engineering the works. |
