Cadila, Elder Pharma, Torrent, Gruh Finance results

Net profit of Cadila Healthcare in the first quarter has gone up by 46 per cent to Rs 47.9 crore as against Rs 32.8 crore in the first quarter of 2004-05. The company has reported a total income of Rs 348 crore, up 12.8 per cent from Rs 309 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenues were driven by an overall growth of 13 per cent in the domestic business and a growth of 76 per cent in formulation exports.
 
Elder Pharma net up by 30%
 
The Mumbai-based Elder Pharma posted 30 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 7.02 crore during the quarter ended June 30, 2005 against Rs 5.37 crore of the corresponding period in the previous year. Operational income of the company increased to Rs 90.64 crore during the period under review from Rs 71.31 crore of the corresponding period last year registering a growth of 27 per cent.
 
Gruh Finance PAT up 25%
 
Gruh Finance has reported a profit before tax of Rs 2.77 crore compared with Rs 2.16 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, showcasing an increase of 28 per cent. The company' profit after tax at Rs 2.40 crore, an increase of 25.6 per cent compared with Rs 1.91 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Loan portfolio of the company stood at Rs 868 crore as against Rs 634 crore in the year-ago period, an increase of 37 per cent.
 
Mico Q2 net dips 1.95%
 
Motor Industries Company has reported a 1.95 per cent dip in net profit at Rs 102.31 crore for the quarter ended June 30 compared with Rs 104.35 crore for the corresponding quarter previous fiscal. Total income, however, increased 25.97 per cent to Rs 765.84 crore for the second quarter ended June 30 from Rs 607.91 crore in the year-ago period, the auto ancillary company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
 
Rainbow Papers net at Rs 1.33 cr
 
Rainbow Papers Ltd has achieved a 30 per cent rise in total turnover of Rs 32.5 crore as against Rs 25.23 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal. The company has posted a net profit of Rs 1.33 crore. The company's paid-up capital is at Rs 5.47 crore.
 
Torrent PAT up 44%
 
The Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharma has registered a profit after tax of Rs 33 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal, a 44 per cent rise compared with the previous fiscal. EPS for the quarter stood at Rs 15.77.
 
Consolidated sales increased by 53 per cent to Rs 221 crore compared with Rs 144 crore in the corresponding period last year. The domestic formulations business recorded a jump of 33 per cent in sales to Rs 132 crore. Operating profit (PBIDT) grew by 40 per cent to Rs 47 crore.
 
Taneja net up 43%
 
Taneja Aerospace and Aviation (TAAL) has posted a 43 per cent to rise to Rs 4 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal. The company's EBDT increased by 35 per cent to Rs 1.6 crore and PAT increased by 251 per cent to Rs 81.63 lakh.
