Pharmaceutical firm Cadila Healthcare today reported a net profit of Rs 60.53 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, while it had a net profit of Rs 51.56 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Total sales and other income from operations rose to Rs 749.10 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 579.53 crore in the same period last fiscal, Cadila Healthcare said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Last year, Cadila Healthcare had demerged its consumer products division and merged Zydus Hospitals and Medical Research with itself. Following the arrangement the results of the quarter and nine-month ended are not comparable with that of the same period last year, the company said.
Pursuant to the restructuring, Carnation continues to remain a listed subsidiary of the parent firm.
During the nine month ended December 2008, the company reported a net profit of Rs 245.08 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 205.64 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
Total income of the nine-month ended December 2008 rose to Rs 2,204.09 crore, whereas it was Rs 1,761.36 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Cadila Healthcare were trading at Rs 244.50, up 2.43 per cent on the BSE.
